Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using PrepScanner, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. We Do NOT Sell Your Data

Dragon Run Technologies LLC will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party — ever. Your data belongs to you. We collect only what is needed to run the app, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

3. Data We Collect

We collect the following information to provide the PrepScanner service:

• Account information (username, email address, and password)
• Photos you submit for identification (processed and discarded after analysis)
• Scan history, which is stored so you can review past identifications
• Basic usage data to keep the service running reliably

4. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to operate PrepScanner. This means:

• Processing your identification requests
• Storing your scan history for your own reference
• Communicating with you about your account
• Improving the accuracy of our identification models, using only anonymized, aggregated data

5. License

Dragon Run Technologies LLC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PrepScanner for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse-engineer any part of the app.

6. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

PrepScanner offers a free tier with a limited number of scans and a PrepScanner Pro subscription available as a monthly or annual auto-renewable plan.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of the selected plan.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device's App Store subscription settings at any time.
• No refunds are provided for any unused portion of a subscription period, except as required by applicable law.
• Free trial periods, if offered, will be specified at the point of purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited upon purchase of a subscription.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use PrepScanner to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes third-party rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Use automated means to access or scrape the service
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app

8. Account Security

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. PrepScanner uses industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

9. AI-Generated Content — No Guarantee of Accuracy

PrepScanner uses AI to identify animals, plants, and objects, but identifications may be incomplete, incorrect, or misleading. We make no guarantee that any identification provided by the app is accurate.

You assume full responsibility for any decisions or actions you take based on information provided by PrepScanner. Dragon Run Technologies LLC is not responsible for any harm, injury, illness, financial loss, or other damage of any kind that results from relying on the app's output — including but not limited to consuming a plant or mushroom the app identified as safe, approaching an animal the app described as non-threatening, or making any other judgment call based on an identification.

Do not rely solely on PrepScanner for decisions involving safety, consumption of wild foods, handling of dangerous animals, or any other activity where an incorrect identification could result in injury, illness, or death. Always verify identifications with qualified experts and local field guides before acting on them.

10. User Content

You retain ownership of photos you upload. By submitting photos to PrepScanner, you grant Dragon Run Technologies LLC a limited license to process and store those images solely for the purpose of providing the identification service. We do not use your photos to train AI models or share them with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

PrepScanner is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Dragon Run Technologies LLC does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that identifications will be accurate. Use of the app is at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dragon Run Technologies LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of PrepScanner, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

13. Termination

Dragon Run Technologies LLC reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your license to use PrepScanner ends immediately.

14. Cancellation & Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. We will permanently delete your data within 30 days of your request. Subscription billing stops at the end of the current billing period.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16. Changes to These Terms

If we make material changes to these Terms, we will notify you via email before the changes take effect. Continued use of PrepScanner after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
